I am a PhD candidate in the department of Information Systems at New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT)
I am member of the SmartCampus Group. My advisor is Dr. Quentin Jones. My research interests in Information system are at the confluence of Human Computer Interaction (HCI), Computer Supported Collaborative Work (CSCW), ubiquitous/pervasive and social computing. I am interested in understanding the social and organizational work processes in technology mediated communication and how this understanding can inform the design of communication technology.
Over the last five years I have looked at how people use contextual information to develop new and/or sustain existing interpersonal relationships. Of particular interest to me is the notion of “interruption management” in everyday technology mediated interpersonal communication. Specifically, as part of my doctoral thesis I am exploring ways to support interruption management in mobile phones.
Advisor: Dr. Quentin Jones
